Trade-In

Customers must create a Shop account with Retro Games Boutique https://retrogamesboutique.com prior to initiating any trade. Store credit is issued and tracked exclusively through this account.

Shipping instructions will be provided following the submission of a trade-in request <LINK>. Lists, links or photos are accepted, in other cases we may request a video or a video call.

Shipments must include sufficient identifying information to associate the items with the customer’s account. A copy of the shipping receipt must be included in the package or provided digitally in order to qualify for reimbursement of shipping costs.

All items are subject to inspection upon arrival. A final quote will be issued based on condition and authenticity. Values may be adjusted from any prior estimate, and items may be rejected at the sole discretion of Retro Games Boutique.

Store credit offers are calculated at a more favorable percentage than cash offers for the same items. If items are accepted, store credit will be issued to the customer’s account in the amount of the final quote. The cost of inbound shipping will be added to the issued credit upon verification of the shipping receipt. Any rejected items must be returned to the customer at their expense or will result in a deduction from the total credit if return shipping is required.

Retro Games Boutique accepts trade-ins for cash in addition to store credit. Customers may choose either option or submit mixed lots for both cash and credit. Separate quotes will be issued for each portion of a mixed submission, though all items may be shipped together in a single package.

All items submitted for cash follow the same shipping and inspection process outlined above. A final cash quote will be issued after evaluation. Items may be adjusted in value or rejected based on condition and authenticity. Cash offers are calculated at a lower percentage than store credit offers for the same items.

Cash payouts are issued through one of any number of online providers or by mailed check. Payments issued by mailed check incur an $8 processing fee. Shipping reimbursement for accepted items will only be provided upon verification of the shipping receipt.

Cash trade-ins require a minimum accepted value of $50. If the evaluated value of a cash submission does not meet this threshold, the items may be returned or converted to store credit.
